Wont happen in 5th gen. Once it is started doors stay unlocked until driver shifts into D or R by default settings.

My head rests do not fold down. 2016 SR5 4x4 w/third row. Damn....

Put this one into the head slap category :doh:, but after a month of thinking the rear view visibility sucked, it finally dawned on me to fold down the second row head restraints.

I too was excited when I saw the post about the rear folding headrests but I don't have the option in a '13 Limited w/ 3rd row :-(. Is it only 3rd row vehicles that don't have them?

Yeah, the screen shot of the owners manual above says it's vehicles without the 3rd row only. It's part of the fold flat feature of the 2nd row, as you have to fold the headrests down before folding the seats down.

Yeah... Some of those things would be really neat on the trail premium. I'd have paid a bit for memory seats and preferred to not have the factory pain in the ass navi.

I know what you mean with the groceries. Either get an aftermarket net to secure the stuff or drop your rear windshield and access the stuff at first to ensure you don't lose anything. I had this happen with a gallon can of paint that opened upon impact with the ground. NOT COOL....

Get the Toyota net and maybe a cargo organizer of some kind. We still have the one we got for the Outback and it works great. I also go the rear all weather mat thing that has a little lip that keeps things from rolling out a little. Mine also have a bunch of tie down points you can hook bungie cords on to hold stuff down.

Get the Toyota net and maybe a cargo organizer of some kind. We still have the one we got for the Outback and it works great. I also go the rear all weather mat thing that has a little lip that keeps things from rolling out a little. Mine also have a bunch of tie down points you can hook bungie cords on to hold stuff down.

That was the first accessory I purchased. The weather tek matt with lip, and the hold down net. Had to slice a hole for each anchor to come through matt, but all is well back there.

The rear windshield washer quit squirting fluid. I thought something was FUBAR'd. Front still worked. then two days later the front quit working and I figured out the reservoir was empty. :redbrick:

Moral of the story - at least for my vehicle - the rear washer is a good indicator of when it is time to add more fluid. :high5:

Read this in another thread: 4 wheel drive does not work in reverse.

Totally false. I was able to reverse up 25-30 degree slopes in 4 low in my off-roading class this past weekend. started down the hill, stop half way down, put in reverse, climb up in reverse. also started from the bottom of said hill in reverse.

It will also stop working if the rear window is not fully closed.

Great thread. I didn't learn a lot of new stuff, but I did learn that having my dash rheostat clicked on to max will lock my nav in day mode. Having an uberbright nav screen at night was a huge pet peeve of mine.
