No Low Washer Fluid Indicator

Went to the dealer for my first 5k service and told them the low washer fluid indicator wasn't working. They verified that the Trail doesn't have a low fluid indicator. So I asked if I could take one off a Premium edition and they said it didn't have one either ... what? A $40K vehicle with no warning light that the fluid is low.....well there is one indicator, when the back washer stops squirting fluid then you know you are about out ... geez

Replacing LED lamp in A/C knob

Another interesting discovery at the dealer today - there is a lamp inside the A/C knob that lights up the orange indicator so you can tell where it is pointed in the dark. The center knob LED wasn't working so I asked them to fix it (under warranty)....they have to order the entire panel with all three knobs - said they can't just replace the led in the knob....??? Perhaps they just get paid more for the warranty work to replace the whole panel - I don't care because it is warranty but that sounds really messed up and if I was having to pay for it I would be taking the knob off....hwell:

and if you downshift on ice, it will get squirrelly on you if not in 4WD (made my wife pucker up)...and if you are going too fast for the next gear down it will beep at you .....

The manual, and many places in this thread, indicate this compartment only exists on certain models. Your description tells me you're like most of us here: you don't have that compartment.

I believe this compartment is only there when you have the optional sliding rear cargo deck /with under floor storage.

Really wanted to contribute to this thread...

if you have the third row, you can store a few things towards the top of the seat when it is folded down. A sort of secret compartment, but not as slick as that other one that was talked about so much here.

Also, the inside top of the center console is supposed to hold Kleenex/napkin boxes. There isn't too much room. The box needs to be pretty thin (maybe an inch and a half). I took two boxes and cut em down to the required height then put one inside the other. I didn't tape em together or anything, this way I can replace the napkins inside when they run out. Napkins... Yup not too cool... But come on... You know ur gonna put em in there.

Just joined 5th gen crew after a dealer gave me the deal I was looking for on the only white TE they had on the lot. Although I wasn't specifically looking for factory remote or Entune Premium, the vehicle had it already installed. Basically learning that the remote start from Toyota is pointless and Entune is so clunky.

I bought 30 small Kleenex boxes from Amazon about 3 years ago (when I still had a 4th gen). Luckily, the center console Kleenex holder is the same size in the 5th gen because I still have a bunch of boxes left!

Replaced Entire Heater Control Assembly

Glad I didn't have to pay for the repair - the heater control assembly (panel with all the knobs) was $933. If I would have to pay for a new assembly I would be quite content to not have the light for a long time before I would shell out that kind of money to fix. If it happens again and not covered under warranty, I will figure out how to remove the knob and replace - there has to be a way.

Life changing? Not at all i'll probably never use it. But new to me.

Passenger side headlight went out randomly Friday night. After trying 3 different ballasts, trying a different bulb on each ballast and nothing worked. Put the stock halogen bulb in and that didn't work either.

Driver side worked with zero issue checked all the wires on the headlight thinking the worst that maybe a wire fried or something and found nothing that stood out. Spent 2 days stumped why the driver side worked but the passenger side was dead?

Come to find out there's separate fuses for the left and right headlight in the fuse box in the engine bay.

Currently fixed and have a different brand hid kit on the way to replace this garbage opt7 set, had the same issue on my fog lights that fuse is under the dash.
