Yep, it's to let you know your ass is going to be cold when you're walking after running out of gas.:tea:

That is correct. It warns that there is possible road freeze due to the temperature.

Mine is usually always on so I ignore it. Frankly, if you are so inattentive that you need an icon to let you know what the weather is like, you should probably not be driving in the first place.

I think there is a setting in the navigation called "Route Trace" I think those are whats marking the dots for the roads that you are driving through but not on the current map. I think the setting can be enabled/disabled

I had mine set like that for a while. When you bend down, the fob in your pocket may be squeezed and press keys. I have come out to find my windows partway down a few times.

I've had that happen a few times as well - unfortunately once was when it was raining :Cry:

Parked my '16 TRDP sideways on a hill to load a 140lb 50cc Honda scooter onto my rear rack from the passenger (uphill) side. After I loaded the scooter onto the rack, I heard a humming sound coming from the rear driver side (downhill) wheel well. It sounded like a low watt compressor. After 5 min it stopped. I think it was equalizing the lift. I don't remember reading that anywhere.

I know my Lexus RCF does this after being parked and it is part of the fuel system not suspension

“Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes. This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check and, it does not indicate a malfunction”

Started it up the other day and noticed that the light for the recirculate switch was not coming on, when I had the heat on. Nor was there any difference in fan noise when pressing it.

Well, I was looking at a real pain of a repair job when after a while everything was working fine. I think there's a delay so the system only recirculates when the temp is a bit up.

Too much over-thinking here Toyota. I want to recirculate when I press the damn switch!. Geez, is it too much to ask for?

Too many bells and whistles on these trucks. I'm coming from Land Rover Defenders where everything's simple and minimalist. I wish I could have stayed with that brand, were it not for one thing - rust!

In the end, I appreciate all the comfort and capability of the 4Runner. But, I do miss the Defenders. Sure, I put up with a lot of discomfort and quirks. But, when you get in one, you seem to forget those deficiencies - mostly.

Were you on defrost mode? It cancels/overrides recirc if set to defrost or combo defrost/feet to aide in the defrosting process.

Rear wiper won't work if tailgate window is slightly ajar

I found that the rear window down switch is easily bumped and can slightly open the tailgate window but you can't really tell because of the molding while looking out the rear view mirror. In this case the rear wiper function won't work. Just push the tailgate window button to make sure it's all the way up and you're good to go.

I had to smile at this ... thinking of all the posts complaining of the lack of auto headlights, ACP/AA, lane departure warning, memory seats, leveling headlights, yada yada yada effing ad nauseum. (Always preceded with "on a $40k truck why can't they ...." )

Well, yeah, for about 30 minutes in 2010.
