If you spin the volume knob super fast, the volume changes very little. If you're lightning fast it doesn't change at all.

One of my jams came on the radio and I turned it up quick thinking I'd go from about 10 to 25 on the volume, and it only went up a tad, then I started messing with it spinning the knob very fast and noticed that if you are super fast, the volume won't change at all. Again base stereo 2011. Odd I know.

I didn't realize that either but, I just hit the Party Mode when I want instant volume. That usually increases the volume sufficiently to allow fine tuning with the knob.

I recently figured out the other large knob on the right jumps tracks back and forth when you are streaming bluetooth from a phone, ie Prime Music, Google Music, etc

Musty smell next day after A/C being running? Some suggest to turn off A/C few minutes before shutting off the engine to help getting moisture out the system. That doesn't work, contrary it actually introduces more H2O from humid non air conditioned atmosphere. Solution is easy and simple - Do Not turn off your A/C at all. Just shut off the ignition. Next morning your air will resume cool and smell free.

2016 T4R SR5 Premium (no remote start, all factory settings), with key:

1) In driver side door:
a) 1 turn clockwise & release - unlocks only drivers door
b) 2 turn clockwise & release - unlocks all doors and rear hatch
As I recall, same as 1999 T4R SR5.

2) In rear hatch:
a) 1 quick turn COUNTERclockwise & release: unlocks all doors and rear hatch (weird that it's a different direction than the driver's door)
b) 1 turn COUNTERclockwise & hold: unlocks all doors and rear hatch and lowers hatch window
c) 1 quick turn clockwise & release: locks all doors and rear hatch (leaves hatch window down, if down)
d) 1 turn clockwise & hold: locks all doors and rear hatch (raises hatch window down, if down).

What I didn't know was 2) a) and 2) c).

Also, no outside lock on front passenger door- good for anti-theft, bad for convenience.

2-14 LE...anybody know what all of the dots on the windshield behind the rear view mirror are for?

Would like to mount ezpass there but dont want to cause interference with car or easy pass or rip those dots off if I remove the ezpass.

I never thought the 4R would be able to rescue my fully loaded Tundra which was sunk to the frame in the side of a creek bank. The side steps of the Tundra were on the dirt. I had been trying to pull out a Kubota L series tractor that was stuck in the creek itself. The Tundra was only able to move the tractor about 2 feet before I buried it. We ended up pulling the Kubota out with a small dozer a few hours later but the wife’s 4R got me on the road again right away. I’ll say this, A-Trac had all 4 wheels spinning on both the 4R and the Tundra to keep them moving. The brakes on both were HOT after the recovery tho. That’ll likely be the hardest and biggest project the 4R will ever take on. I only used it because the wife was out and about and 20 minutes closer closer than anyone else and I was in a hurry to get to other jobs. I was impressed!

door lights turn off

Got a 16 trail, I was out camping left the the doors open for an extended amount of time, door puddle lights turned off auto. and couldn't get any interior lights to turn on or map lights, closed the doors and everything worked as normal

OK, for a techie, man i am slow on the steering wheel functions.
Sure i got the up/down on programmed channels but for like on Sirius (I get the cheapest and say I will cxl every 6 months and get it for a tad under $5/month)- I was gonna kill myself over only going to the next programmed station.

How dumb it took me months to realize the left/right on the touchpad/steering wheel takes u up and down a channel.

Frustration for no reason except the sales guy showed me zippo. Funny, he's no longer working there. Luv my 4Runner- do hate that dealership. It's CO and they don't care...

The dots on the control knob for the a/c. I didn't realize it split the functions into percentages. Instead of 50/50 feet and dash it split them into 75/25(guessing here) or vice/versa. I felt like Kurt Cobain.

Just realized that there's a factory hood pin while doing the first oil change, and I didn't have to install an aftermarket one for the remote start alarm. Oh well, I guess now I have redundant hood pin switches
