thinking about a custom badge/emblem

Yes...black emblem, "white" letters are actually machined, red letters are painted. Should look great on my 4Runner....still have to decide where would be a good place or places to put them.

You said "these" so I assume you have more than one coming...
He's working on a single for my lift gate now, then I have some ideas for some side badges.

Did you plan on side Badges from the beginning?
 
At first, I was only going to have one badge on the tailgate.

I am wondering what they would look like on the sides....and would be interested in your designs.

I actually purchased four badges total....never know when you may need a spare, and since Steve has been great to work with, I wanted to show some appreciation. Great small specialty vendors are hard to come by.

We actually have a friend in common, and this friend referred me to Steve.

These guys are into the big trucks. My friend drives a Ford F-350 with the huge turbo diesel. Both of them actually gave me some tips when I got my wheels powder coated.

He's actually doing mine from scratch...Didn't really have a design other than an image in my head.
 
Yeah...I am not artistic. I threw some Toyota, V8, and VVT-i logos at him, and told him I wanted to incorporate the look into one badge....and he threw some ideas back at me, then we settled on one.

I actually have an idea in my head for non-car use that I think I will ask him about.
 
I'm going with that size also. I cut a piece of paper out to that exact size last weekend and held it up at different places on my tailgate just to kinda get some ideas on placement. I know crude but hey I know more now than I did before.

Also just a thought, and I know this won't work for everyone but I have an empty spot on my dash that a badge this size would be perfect in. I'm thinking of having a second one made just for that.
 
Steve actually sent me a to scale PDF of my badge to help with placement. Hmmm...the dash? Might have to see how that looks.

VVT-i

without sounding like idiot, could I get some more info on the VVT-i engine option because I have come to believe that my runner only has 235 hp and it is a V8 when the V6 is reported to have 245 hp. if this engine option gives me more hp then I want it. if I can even add it on but if I cant then at least Ill know what it is....

Do a search for this info, its all over this forum. For convenience's sake here it is in a nutshell:

'03 & '04 (Non-VVT-i at least not for the V8)
V6 has 245 HP, V8 has 235 HP

'05 & '06 (Both engines have VVT-i)
V6 has 245 HP, V8 has 270 HP
 
Curtis, you think i could buy one of those from you? I could send you a check and you could deposit it and make sure it goes through before you send it to me....
