Thinking about buying this weekend. Suggestions?

Hi all. I've been a lurker for a good while now waiting for the right 4runner. I think I may have found a good one and want to get some opinions. It's a 2001 4Runner SR5 4x4 w/153k miles. One owner and garage kept. Seems in good shape, but have yet to see it in person. The timing belt has been replaced but the water pump has not. Is there anything specific that I need to keep an eye on when I go look at it this weekend. Should I wait for something with less mileage? Since this one is a 1 owner car I accepted that the mileage is a little higher than I'd like. Should I wait for something similar but with a Limited package? Does the leather wear better than the cloth? Any thoughts or opinions will be greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to joining you guys on here!

Thanks!

That's not bad mileage, it's about average for an '01. As long as it's in good shape I would go for it. A 1 owner 3rd gen is probably pretty hard to find now. I would get him down to 7,000. 4Runners hold value pretty well.

That's like 11k miles a year. Very average. I wouldn't be scared by the mileage. See if you can talk him down by telling him you want to do the water pump. Unless it is immaculately clean, I think $7k is fair.

It's not a great price, but it's a fair one. I got a 01 sport ed. For $6000 after talking him down from 7 due to valve cover leakage, a nonfunctional sunroof and a couple other minor things. Mine had 180k.

I looked for about 2 months before I found my 02 SR5 with 55,500 miles for $7500. I've seen plenty of 2000 to 2002's with 105,000 to 150,000 miles go for $7000 - $8500 so that price isn't terrible. As stated before, it's just not great.
