Thinking of a possible wheel color change...

I've noticed that the aluminum wheels on my 4runner are kinda chipped in some places, and the finish isn't that great anymore. I'm thinking of painting my wheels myself, but i'm not sure what color would look good with my body color. i'm thinking either gunmetal or gloss black. What do you guys think?

You can't really tell from the picture, but it's not a true silver is looks like it has more tan in it, i'm not sure what it's called exactly.

I am personally a fan of matt black or gunmetal black or whatever you want to call it and not a fan of chrome. But in your case, with all the chrome, as well as the tire shine, a gloss would be acceptable. If you plan to lift it and install aftermarket bumper(s), I'd wait and match it to the bumper(s).

Desert Dune Metallic? If so, I have the same color and I have gunmetal gray wheels. Look at the thread in my signature for the '97 Limited for pictures.

thanks man- much appreciated. lift and bumpers are in the future- but i plan on buying entirely new wheels and tires after the lift because then everything underneath will be fresh and new. I think i just want to improve the current ones as best i can for as cheap as i can because it's gonna be a while before i can spend any serious cash on this thing. I've got 2 years left of school and baseball.

I think that you're right on the paint color- they look the same to me in the pictures. I think the gunmetal would look pretty sharp on mine... especially after i do the emblems black.
