thinking of lifting

I just bought an 08 4runner and was thinking of lifting it. I was thinking of going with a body lift, but am unsure which to go with. A buddy of mine also mentioned I should just go with a suspension lift... What is better and still in a good price?

That depends on what your budget is... how much are you willing to spend and what type of off-roading will you be doing?

get a suspension lift then go from there if you want a BL.

What are you goals? Looks? Offroading? Clearance for bigger tires?

I'm on a tight budget but would be doing the work myself to save money. I wont be doing any crazy off roading just mud and sand. My ultimate goal is just to have a higher ground clearance and throw on some bigger and more aggressive tires.

You won't get higher ground clearance from any lift, you need bigger tires for that to lift the rear differential. Otherwise, a suspension lift will actually lift everything higher (except the rear differential), where a body lift won't do that (the frame isn't raised higher).

seems pretty obvious to me then! Do a daystar 2.5/1.5 lift. 132 out the door and 15 bucks for a six pack and your time.

If your trying to stay on a budget, then the 2.5" Daystar is your best bet. But depending on the number of miles on the rig, you may want to look into some Bilstein 5100 instead.

Does anyone here run the full OME kit (3" lift)?

I'm thinking I'm going to go with the full OME kit, priced it out at $1,100.00

Does that pricing sound right?

I'm looking to put bigger tires/rims (not huge) to improve off road capability, I also want to maintain a nice ride on paved roads too.

plenty of people run the full OME setup. I think you can get it for 870 or so. That sounds high. For 1100 you may as well get toytec C/O's. You should check out the link I posted earlier.
