Thinking of Purchasing a 2k4 4runner

Just looking for some insight found a 4runner for sale that has 130k on it. What should I be worried about? I usually do not buy cars with more than 100k on but I know toyota has a great product and the price is at 8000 nego. LMK what you all think.

well to give you an idea, i bought my 04 2 years ago, i paid 14000 for mine with a little over 100k (i know a little much, but it was a toyota certified preowned) and other than upgrades, all ive done is change oil and put a rear set of disk's that were pretty warped. toyota's are IMO the best on the road. my fiance has an 05 matrix she bought brand new and she knows absolutely nothing about cars. i think that car was lucky to get an oil change on time before we got together, but the thing still ran like a champ. definitely get the carfax though. even a toyota wont be worth it with a bent frame or something crazy.

I see this is your 1st post. Do a search on the 4th gen section and you will get a lot of info on this subject.

Carfax will help but give it a close inspection yourself or by a trusted mechanic. 8k seems like a really good deal. My 04 had a clean carfax with all dealer done maintenance on time and no accidents "reported" turns out they did replace the passenger side rear bumper panel and did not report it. No biggie.

very good chance of it having seized calipers, warped rotors.
