Those of You Who Plasti Dip'd Your Bumpers

What all did you do to prep them (besides the cleaning & rubbing alcohol)? Did you remove them from the truck? Remove the valance(s), lights, mud guards? Or did you just tape them up and not worry about painting underneath the plastic pieces?

take as much as you can apart.

while i still think this stuff is a miracle of modern science, in terms of how well it holds. it holds better if it "wraps" the whole part, in my experience.

If you can take the bumpers off! makes it a lot easier, because taping off everything is a *****. I just plastidiped my rear bumper and I made sure all of the edges of plasti dip were under pieces of trim like under the mudflaps. the only thing if you take them off be careful re installing them.

I didn't even clean mine. I just got some trash bags and tape and went to paint. Been on and through washes and wheeling for 6 months now. Still looks great. Not faded or anything.
