The "raptor lights" do actually serve a purpose. They are a federal requirement for vehicles wider than 82" (i think). Ford just figured out a way to do it that looks 'cool' rather than industrial like the same purpose lights you see at the top of the windshield on large trucks.

Yup they should be really called DOT lights since they are required by the Department of Transportation on all vehicles that are wider than 80" This is why you will now see them coming from the factory on the new Tundra for the TRD Pro model which is almost 82" wide. Still looks silly on a 4runner though

I have the raptor lights but if I had to do it again I probably would pass but since they're installed already I'm keeping them since they add some visibility especially when the headlights are off since they are always on (for me anyway).

I have lasfit led, raptor lights, and put the yellow film on the fog lights. Pretty happy with the outcome(2016 4Runner SR5 premium)

I feel like what you do with your rig is up to you. In the end I believe mods, especially lights, should serve a purpose and these "Raptor" lights serve none, IMO. Seems like every other 4R I see has them...it's something that's contagious and hope I don't catch it. Cheers.

Agreed, I think of them as running lights more than anything. Adds a subtle little bit of amber to break up the grille a bit

Here are my raptor lights. I was on the fence about them, but decided to get them anyways, install them, and I'm kind of on the fence about them still. They do provide a slight beam pattern as well as you can sort of see in this pic. They are sort of blinding so they are rarely ever on, and when they are off, you can't even tell they are there as they are a black housing type so blends in with grill.

Thank ya'll for saying it! These were not just added to a Raptor for looks, and they are not on it because its a Raptor, but because of Federal Regs. I guess Raptors should be given credit for finding a more interesting place to mount them than across the roof like on duallys.

LOL "Raptor" lights have been around long before the Raptor ever came along, but kudos to Ford for making them popular.
