They're both just a plastic ramp, not much science into it. Get the cheaper ones

I've seen MaxTrax work, they're undeniably effective. I've never seen the Tred, how much are they and where can you buy them? Their website says TJM distributes them in the US, and as normal, TJMs website doesn't even mention them.

I found them on Amazon. At half the price of MaxTrax they seem appealing, until you realize that's the same pricepoint as the Shittybilt ramps and those things suck. The MaxTrax rep says the Treds are made of PVC plastic, which is exactly what the (shattered) Shittybilt ramp I saw appeared to be made of.
OP, I'd get the MaxTrax. Or wait until more guys have bought the Treds and they get a better rep.

The one good thing about TRED 4x4 is they have a lifetime warranty vs a 2 year warranty from MaxTrax. Here's a side by side comparison.

I did not know about the lifetime warranty. That and I have found the tred4x4 for 150 over maxtrax 299.

The pvc thing is really my only concern. But finding them at 150 and knowing next quarters books are $600 I am sort of leaning toward the Tred.

Buy it, break it, and get it replaced for free. MaxTrax are better in my opinion. If you're not planning on using them very much the TRED's will work just fine.

My concern would be having them break when you need them - I'm a buy once cry once sort of fellow, and IME the more recovery options you carry the more you're likely to do something that'll make you need them

If you get the Treds, take them out and TRY to break to them. You're out nothing if it works, and if you can't break them then you know you can trust them. Post up your results!

I also prefer the do it buy it once mantra. But I would rather spend the bulk of what little I have on a good flexy lift. Haha that does sound about right.

Local expedition outfitter is having a sale on the Treds. Not sure how the price compares elsewhere on-line, but just saw them on here today.

That's a hell of a deal.
We have been selling TREDs for a year and a half now, with nearly 200 sets sold, and have yet to hear from anyone for a warranty claim. One thing to note about their warranty is that it has quite a bit of wiggle room written into it. (The all-caps is from their site, not my doing)
The price between the new TRED PRO and MaxTrax isn't that great. I think I'd go with MaxTrax since they're proven.

All warranty claims of any nature are void if the product has been altered, damaged or in any way physically changed, or subjected to abuse, misuse, negligence or accident contrary to the instructions for use as detailed on the (TRED? | Total Recovery & Extraction Device for Off Road Vehicles) website and associated user manuals."
3. TRED WILL EITHER REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY DEFECTIVE PART OR PRODUCT, AT ITS SOLE DISCRETION.
