Thoughts on this '96 third gen for sale, please?

Paint is obviously jacked but the guy says he's pretty flexible on the price. Just wondering if this is worth taking a look at? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

1996 4runner 4x4 - $4500

Selling my 1996 Toyota 4Runner. 3.4L 5vze running well. Transmission runs well. ALOT OF UPGRADES.
Completely rebuilt front end with after market parts. Total chaos upper control arms, new cv axles, used but rebuilt adjustable Sway-a-away race coil overs, new OEM lower joints and new oem lower control arm bushings installed at the truck shop and like New breaks installed and new brake lines. New power steering lines and rebuilt power steering rack and pump. The 4x4 systems shifts great and doesn't gets stuck or anything. Has had the transmission flushed and filled with new fluid. Upgraded addicted off-road bumper with fog lights(not wired. Like new BFGoodrich KO2 with less than 1000 miles. The rear suspension is toytec superflex 3.5 inch coils paired with some Fox shocks. New radiator with a b and m transmission cooler running in line with the radiator to help cool the transmission off while off-roading All windows work and ac runs cold and heater works. It has a clean title. And is a good daily driver as I still drive it constantly. Reason for selling is I want a manual transmission and looking for a TJ.

Now to the cons of the vehicle:
Paint is not in the best condition
Ripped out the carpet from the cargo area and plan on repainting it with rhino liner
Key sometimes gets stuck in ignition but repair is about $130

It looks great to me, especially for that price and negotiable, in So Cal. Lots of upgraded parts, and it sounds like good parts too.

Thanks for the input. It does look like he put some money and work into it. The exterior doesn't match the low miles for that year so I'm a little iffy but prob will make the 40 min drive to check it out.

I'd check it out if I were the OP. If everything looks okay with the vehicle, and the owner sounds like he is competent, I'd have a mechanic look it over and proceed pending inspection. If you were able to get this puppy for $4k (or less??!!), that would be a screaming deal. This rig probably should be listed for $7-9.5k if there aren't any surprises.

You could always get the vehicle wrapped if you didn't like the paint. Good luck!

Thanks! Trying to go check out the car as soon as I can. My biggest concern would be that the kid did a lot of the work himself so would need to have a mechanic double check everything to make sure it's mechanically sound.

I bought my 96 4x4 a year ago with 136K... same problem with paint clear coat... let us know if you checked it out
