Thread On Front Wheel Bearings and Seals?

I could swear a few years ago I read a couple of threads on oil stains showing up on front wheels and needing to replace the wheel bearings and seals. I can't seem to get the advanced search function to find anything on the subject. Does anyone know if such a thread or similar ones exist and how to find them?

I believe I have a bad front bearing and I would like to educate myself before I bring my 4Runner in.
