Throttle Body Plate Position

Ok, so I'm doing the whole MAF and Throttle Body cleaning and I get to my plate and see its not opening the full 90 degrees as I've seen in pics on the write up page, it only opens halfway (if that). Any ideas on if this is normal or can I adjust something to get it to open more?

Your 2002 is Throttle-by-wire. Accelerator/cable linkage only does part of the job. It's sort of a limp-home backup. What you are seeing is normal.

Ok awesome thanks TheDurk! It is definitely proving to be a PITA to get in there and cleanup around it without being able to open all the way! Luckily I think the previous owner had some knowhow as it seems as if it has been cleaned before.

BTW my MAF was filthy couldn't even see the brown glass! Hopefully it will prove worth the time taken to clean.
