This fixed my 2001 4Runner hesitation problem.
This fixed my 2001 4Runner hesitation. I simply roughed up the electrical contacts going to the throttle body. There is a 4-wire connector on each side of the throttle body. One is accessible by simply unplugging it. The other requires a little (but not much) work to get to it. This hesitation problem plagued me, off and on, for a year and a half with no one able to diagnose the problem. On a lark, I tried a little sand paper from my tool box and the problem left (instantly) and has been gone for over a year now.
