Thule Fairing For Improved Aerodynamics Of Surco Sarafi Rack

i installed the rack yesterday and today i finally had a chance to drive around and i notice the obvious wind noise from having the rack on my roof which is only noticable when the sunroof is open.

so ive been considering getting a fairing to help with the airflow and gas mileage since i will be keeping the rack on.
has anyone used either the thule or yakima fairing in a custom application?

i went down to sports chalet and checked out the yakima one - which seems to be the cheapest quality one of the two and my second choice. its seems like it'll work except for the brackets are round instead of square (like the tubing of my rack) i didnt get a chance to see the thule fairing up close because nobody in my area carries it- ill have to wait til tomorrow when i go to concord. but the thule seems so much better and its brackets are square and metal so im sure i can rig it to work.

u u notice the thule fairing has three clamps and the middle one seems like it will cause it to work, this is the same as the yakima rack,

on the yakima fairing in wider applications (44'') it has 4 mounting clamps and that will work i just hope on the wider app on thule it is set up the same

It might work or not. I'd suggest to use some plastic piece for test before buying THULE or Yakima.

I have the Thule fairing on my thule rack on my rav, and the fairing is all plastic, brackets and everything, no part of the bracket is metal on mine.

They don't do much. I had the fairing on a ski rack back when I had a Maxima and all it did was damage the paint where the leading edge touches.

I have a Thule ski rack on the 4runner and it makes noise too. I just deal with it.
