thumping when turning

i'm getting a metallic squealing sound on sharper left-hand turns (parking lot situations).... but i have a Highlander.. not sure if it would be the same problem...

I had the same thumping noise earlier and the sound and feel disappeared after I lubed my driveshaft. If you know your shaft hasn't lubed lately, get it done and see if it works.

It's the body mounts. I think I saw that in another thread. There is a TSB on it.

If you see my earlier post, that says the dealer said I was just turning the wheel too far. Well, they replaced the body mounts because of another squeak that I heard when I went over any bumps. My point is that now I don't have either noises.

"Leave the car here on Tuesday. We'll fix everything and give you a loaner..."

Does anyone have a TSB number for this turning problem? I'm getting some thumping noise, too, when I turn every once in a while.

This is one of the TSB's i tried to bring the 4Runner in for and when i get the car back, I get the paper saying, "Could not reproduce the problem." So they did nothing. Same with the sulfur smell..... They must have hired deaf techies with stuffed noses.....


There's a story to go along with all this madness with Power Toyota in Cerritos, CA, but I won't say anything till this is all resolved.....

I have also had grinding when pulling into parking spot at reasonable speed but twice have heard a beep-beep which must be my VSD going off. Toyota could not reproduce problem.
My only other issue is that I had a front end collision 11/05 but supposedly had no suspension/steering damage per Toyota service.
It never (in 2 years) made this sound before. Has anyone had their VSD beep when turning into parking spot at low speed?
