Thunder Up's Build Thread

So a while back, I ordered some replacement lights off of autolumination.com. I got two T4's in red, and two T3's in red. These are the bulbs I ordered:

These are the old bulbs next to the new ones:

They turned out amazing. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but my HD camera is dead. I'll post some better ones up later.

They turned out amazing and are alot brighter. I did not get the LED ones. In the pictures it looks a little pink and it looks like it has a few hotspots, but that is just the camera. No hotspots and all in pure red!

Nice work on the bulbs. The 4 bulbs are all you need for the HVAC control right? I might have to try the clear ones soon.

It depend on your year/model. I have a 1999 limited, as you can tell from my build. If yours is that year and your HVAC control looks like mine, then yes it takes those 4 bulbs. It is still really easy to access the control box and looking for yourself.
Looking good man!

What about going all white on the interior?
Thanks! Like I said, I am going to do a blue/red theme. I think all white would look awesome, but its not my style.

Ok, so I know it has been about two weeks since I've posted up on here. Just wanted to update you guys on some things. I took off the brush guard to see how it looks. I like the look without the brush guard on, but it does offer protection. Plus I have some damage caused by it that I need to take care of. So my plan is to make new mounting brackets, or fix the old ones. Clean it up and pretty much restoring the brush guard. This might mean sanding, priming, and painting it all in rustoleum bedliner. And hopefully fix the damage it has caused. Also, when I bought the runner, it came with rear tail guards. I removed those because they were chipping, rusting, and basically causing some damage to my rear panels near the tails. So I am going to try to restore those. I am thinking about sanding them down, putting a little primer on, then coating them with some bedliner. But those are future plans for when I have time. Recently I had my engine light on. So I rushed to auto zone the next day, hooked up the computer, and found out I needed a new oxygen sensor. So that'll hopefully come soon. Also, my gas gauge is out. I had issues before, but it got to the point that the gas light is always blinking. So at this point, afraid of the fixing cost, I am watching gas, and counting my trip meter. The only good news right now is that I fully cleaned her the other night. The full white-glove inspection. I even got all the nooks and crannies with the air compressor. So she's clean! For now... Also, new girlfriend! Yay. Pics tomorrow, hopefully.

Also, I would suggest going with a different color than clear. When I took out my old bulbs, I took the green "condoms" or sleeves off of them so they were clear, but it still turned out green on a couple things. I come to find out that some of the material that the light shines through is somewhat green.

Update

Hey guys, long time no see! Just a little update. Lately I have removed the brush guard and done some small stuff. Today me and my dad replaced my brakes. I got new rotors, pads, and calipers. If I had more time, I would've painted my calipers red. But since I needed them done today, I didn't. Plus the calipers were a spur of the moment thing. I got rear shoes, but ended up taking them back because my rear shoes didn't have much wear. There is definitely a big difference from the old to the new.
