I've been pretty lucky.. No tickets so far (knock on wood or otherwise known as Jaketino's head) I can get bored driving the same highway every day so every once in a while I'll downshift and give it a little gas. I want to hijack and turn this into a top speed thread but I know people will jump in and start complaining.

No way man it could totally be a Top Speed/ Ticket Thread. Which in that case I dont know if I should disclose that information! hahaha

In that case... in this particular vehicle with 33s and lifted I've barely got it up to 100 in 4th gear(not counting bigger tire difference so like 107?)(That's as fast as she would go). 5th gear doesn't accelerate past 80mph. Remember! this was on a closed track and I had a full jump suit and a complete roll cage inside and outside the vehicle and 5 ambulances and 3 fire trucks on the scene while I was there. Oh and I had 2 helmets for extra protection. :biggrin1:

I've passed Jaketino going a little to fast one time. Just kinda flew by him and his girl with a full truck full of teenagers. Man being young is fun.

No tickets though. Turned 18 not too long ago. And yes I pay for my vehicle from working 40 hours a week w/school. To everyone who hates freeloading kids..

Hahaha! double helmet= Double trouble...
Do you notice a huge like power difference/ needing more clutch work when you have more people in the car cause I always notice a huge difference of gaining speed with less.
Well on the same road as the ticket I got it up to 98...but driving this interstate everyday last summer for work I learned the "tricks" of traffic...just didnt pay attention to everyone slamming on their brakes about the same spot in the road -_- damn you musicc

I can tell the lag that's for sure. Not too much though. The 5 speed really makes the 5vzfe pretty quick actually.

My auto isn't that great for speed. My old school 89 2wd toyota pickup was hella quick though even with oversized tires. I used to rally it up in the hills. I have had multiple tickets, most of which were stupid. 60 in a 40, 40 in a 20 school zone, 90 in a 60, etc. all of which were in that truck. I've maxed it out (22re mind you) at 125 (GPS). The speedo only goes to 110 btw. Haha. I gotta get past 150 at some point though. :D

What kills me though is where I was stopped was about 100 feet from the 75 mph sign...now I can do math and I know was still speeding but 3 over probably result in the ticket I got! Also for anyone in my area it was right next to the Cabelas!

My Runner is too slow to get any tickets :violin:

I said those exact lines to a cop that pulled me over, he laughed said it was the funniest thing he's heard in a long time. Still wrote me a ticket though, I was going 75 in a 55. He wrote 66 on the ticket, something about speed brackets and by doing that it saved me a couple hundred dollars. I tell everyone my runner is a down hill racer, which by the way, I was going down hill. This was in my old 86' runner. ( should have never sold that truck!):faint:

Also got a speeding ticket on New Year's Eve, by a motorcycle cop. My ex made me go pick up her roommate who was just recently dumped. I was in a hurry to get back to the party. The cop has me look for my registration which just so happened to be in the glove box along with a flask she was drinking, I'm trying to hide the flask with one hand and look for paperwork the other hand. The cop starts yelling "Sir" "sir" pull your break sir!! As he's sidestepping along with my rolling backward truck. Well with only a foot to spare I react and put my foot back on the brake and just barely miss rolling into his motorcycle! Frick, I was so lucky to just get a ticket, thank god I had two gorgeous cheerleaders in my truck I think that's the only reason he let me go. Any way the time stamp on the ticket was 11:59. Shit you not the officers name was "Lucky", officer Lucky........can't make that up,

Got one last year for going 43 in a 40. The cop tried to get me for being in a school zone (25), but when I mentioned that he pulled me over 50 yards before the school zone started, he mumbled something, then mentioned I was still speeding...pretty dick move on his part.
I can see if I was going 10+ over, or if I was still going fast in the school zone, but 3 could be considered to be in the margin of error zone.
Ruined my day too...I had taken the day off, first warm day of spring, had all the windows and sunroof open, and going to buy a MTB...and this douche drops a $156 ticket on me for 3mph over.

My reckless tickets:
1) Multiple lane change (No one around me at night, officer said I should've spent 3 seconds in each lane as opposed to just going through them all.)
2) Speeding. 72 in a 35. (Charge droppped. Officer didn't appear.)

Unrelated, but scary:
I was riding in a friends boosted S2000 and got busted racing @150mph with another vehicle. (State police followed and pointed all vehicles to the shoulder. The only person arrested that night was a guy following in a 350z. But we're all pretty sure he was only arrested because he was black. He was just following the two racers at probably 125-130mph.)

Oh, the younger years... Now I get passed by a Prius and my ego stays in tact.

Depends on the type of ticket I suppose.
No moving violations ever in my '98 since new or my '89 runner either since new.

BUT! Every year or every other year I get a parking ticket at Christmas when the mall parking is full and I make my own by pulling up on the lawn or an island.:bravo:
Those ones I don't mind.

I got two in April 1 week apart. 81 in a 65 and no hands free device (aka cell phone). I had my phone to my ear holding it with my shoulder...I told the cop my hands were free. He laughed and handed me the ticket and told me he'd see me in court. Was only $160. Not worth a day in court. I paid the fine.
