tie down points when trailering?

Hi - first post here. Just scored a '98 Limited off of ebay, now I need to go get it. I have a 16 ft car hauler that I use to haul my solid axle off-road Jeep around on and I'm used to just strapping to both axles. Not having ever hauled an IFS with the CV axles I'm not sure if I can just strap to those or if there is some other preferred location? Thanks...

You can tie it down by the frame, but it'll ride like shit on the trailer.
I have axle straps that wrap around the axles for tie downs.

So, I guess this means its OK to wrap the axle straps around the front CV axles without damaging them, right?

As I'm pretty conservative I have 4 sets of Macs tiedown straps I use. 2 for each axle and then also 4 on the frame, compressing the springs. This is probably overkill but I've seen 1st hand what happens when a strap breaks during hard braking and it wasn't pretty.

Thanks...
