Has anyone found a good solution to tying down the rear hatch when you have something too big or long to fit? I put lumber out the back window, but I recently had purchased some furniture and the boxes were about 1-2 inches too long to fit. That's with the front seat all the way up and the boxes up against the front seat, on top of the folded down rear.
I have used the pull strap and even the metal loop of the pull strap with bungee cords or string. For short trips, I think this is fine. However, I wanted to know if someone else could offer another solution. I'm concerned about breaking the strap or the metal loop.
