time delay for engaging 4x4

I am use to a manual transfer case. I am not sure is something is messed up with this t4r. It takes several seconds to engage into 4x4. If I go to 4L it takes a really long time like 15 seconds. Is this normal?

sorry, It is an 08 Sport V-6

My 4lo is pretty instant , second or two .

Locking the center diff. takes a little longer depending what I'm doing when locking it.
