Would it be worthwhile to get it estimated with genuine Toyota parts in hopes of getting totaled and try to buy back from insurance company? Any opinions?

Hey thought I would pass along an update on my ride... State Farm Insurance gave me $2400 on the damage to my front end. I'm definitely looking for a nice aftermarket bumper now!!

That's a LOT!
I rear-ended a Lexus because it can stop way faster than my 4R when some idiot stops at a green light...anyway... My whole front end had to be replaced. Bumper, grill, headlights, AC condenser, valance, turn signals, and God knows what else. I only paid my deductible, but the bill was no where near $2000.

I am pretty sure you can straighten that fender instead of replacing it. Mine got smooshed similarly by a Buck and I popped it all back out just fine. There's not a lot of brains needed to get that $hit back to true, just patience, a hammer, pry bar, screwdrivers, etc...
Is your radiator support actually bent? It doesn't look like it, but it's hard to tell from pics and w/o having taken anything off to see. In any case, I doubt it's actually out of true and if it is bent, it's probably a small/localized dent. Trueing it is something you are best leaving to a shop; pounding out dents is monkey work though.
I second that 4x bumper. If I did it again, I definitely would have that on my truck instead of the now defunct Outdoor Logic one.

I'm not sure if the radiator support is actually bent because the hood/fender lines are still true and I can't tell anywhere else

I now have my new CBI hybrid and I hope someone dings my bumper so I can get the check, save the time of selling it, and put the new CBI on. Buy a rear bumper :reddance:

Check the CBI hybrid. Look at txbonds build thread he just put his on and it looks awesome.

From the pictures I posted at the first of this post can anybody tell if the impact might have been enough to affect the installation of a new aftermarket bumper? I'm really liking the cbi hybrid and wondering if the impact could have bent my mounting rails or not... I know this is kind of a blind question but am just curious of opinions... Thanks for the replies!!!

From what anyone can tell from the pictures I posted does it look like the damage could mess me up with installing a new bumper? The garage told me all bumper supports and stuff for the factory bumper was bent but that wouldn't affect installing an aftermarket bumper would it? I'm not a mechanic by any means but doesn't nice "off road" bumpers just mount to the forward frame rails? How hard of an impact would it take to push those over? As I said I know this is a blind and vague question to ask... Thanks for any and all replies

I don't think any aftermarket plate bumpers use the stock bumper mounts, most include their own and are much beefier than stock. Unless the frame is bent (unlikely with the lack of damage in the pics) you're OK.
