Timing Belt Change 2006 V8 Limited 4runner

Not Sure if folks are still following this thread - I have a 2006 V8 T4R with 115K and am trying to compile a list of parts to replace;
here is what I have ;

I'm also doing this job on my 2007 v/8. I'm being told that the hydraulic tensioner is a complete waste of money to replace and that the crankshaft seal is behind the hub and will be alot of work to get to and cost $550 more to do(Never heard this before)
My quote is for $890 doing timing belt, waterpump and gasket, idler pulley, camshaft seals, themostat and gasket and serpentine belt and a flush and fill of the radiator
No hydraulic tensioner replaced, no radiator hoses replaced, but everything used will be genuine and original Toyota parts. I will have a 12 month warranty on parts and labor too.
Total $890....any thoughts on this quote would be greatly appreciated. I'm supposed to do it Monday morning

Just a follow up...I did do the TB job myself and it went pretty well. The one big problem I ran into was getting the crank shaft pulley off. I ended up getting a new impact gun that goes up to 750 ft/lbs of torque and that zipped if off with no problems. Had to pull the radiator to get to it though.
Also, the TB tensioner was a pain, I ended up replacing it just because I couldnt come up with a way to substitute the "special tool" needed to hold it in during installation.
All in all, not bad though. I would certainly do it again if I had to and saved a TON of money.

I bought the exact same parts from eBay id: royalsouthtoyotascion Contact Richard via email and he will pull your vin# and sell them directly from the Toyota dealer with receipt so you have 12 mos warranty on parts for $499 shipped. My local Toyota ASE certified tech with 13 yrs exp said they will install for $500 and give 12 mos on labor too----so, total= $1000 with 12mos parts and labor warranty and I'm in Los Angeles, you should find cheaper labor than LA

After reading this thread I am happy with the deal I got from a local independent Toyota specialty shop. Last week I paid 1,091.00 for the following: timing belt, water pump, gaskets, o rings, serp belt, thermostat, coolant, replaced sway bar bushings, PCV, changed spark plugs, oil change, and 4 wheel alignment. The following was done for free: lubed steering shaft, greased drive train, cleaned catalytic converter, replaced plastic coverings over dashboard panels.

ha ha...no pretty receptionist but a bunch of nice guys who I felt were knowledgeable and honest......actually truck was serviced by a forum member I met right here on this forum who has the same year T4R only a V6 instead of my V8. He drove my car and told me what I needed at a minimum and I told him how much I was willing to spend. His family owns the Toyota specialty shop and he is a tech who serviced my truck. They now have my business as I will go no place else!

The shop that did mine said the exact same thing to me about never ever seeing the tensioner or pulley fail. He kept saying how it wasn't necessary even while he was putting them on.
My thoughts are... why be the 1st one he sees fail. If you're already in the $1100 neighborhood for a repair what's another $100 for literally everything to be new? I made him put them on and am glad I did, cuz if they fail it's like paying for another TB job to replace them

I'm a bit curious as to how they "cleaned" your catalytic converter. I've been a professional tech for 11 years and never even heard of such a thing.
along these lines of timing belt, I am looking for some honest feedback as to what else besides the timing belt I should do for an 06SR5 4WD with 89,000 miles that has pretty much just had fluids only changed since being purchased... yes I can go to the dealer and let them do the entire laundry list in the owners manual charging me an arm and a leg, however I cant help but think someone on here has the skinny on what truly needs to be done at the 90k mileage point... many thanks!!!
