+1 for aircabinman's kit off ebay, although the amazon kit is a little cheaper with free shipping...also get a new crank bolt for extra peace of mind, nothing but OEM for these compenents
That's why I said, in my original post, to go oem on water pump. Components like that aren't worth reinstalling. The gates belt and components were good for me.

No worries. Good to hear the rest of the kit is still working. I'm going on 35k miles on mine. Hoping it goes the full distance too!Right. Sorry, I mis-read your post.... I replaced the WP with OEM and left the rest of the Gates kit in. The TB and the rest of the components looked new except for the coolant stains!! When I do the TB/WP job on my sons' car this Spring, I'll go OEM on the pump.
Crank bolt part number?
Crank bolt part number?
As per link:
1998 Toyota 4Runner. #9010516031: BOLT (FOR CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SET). BOLT

Be sure to use Loctite and torque it to spec 213 ft lbs
I was lucky enough to have the engine out of the truck when I did my job and, wow, was it hard to get the torque.
Ordered the ebay kit as well with all toyota parts.
What extra parts or "shop supplies" are also needed to complete the job?
Ordered a seal puller -- What's needed to install new seals other than press? Grease of some kind?
Ordered new crank bolt -- Need thread locker. What brand/strength?
New Aisin water pump -- Just use Aisin gasket in kit?
Ordered pulley holder -- Plan to try (in order) impact, breaker bar, bump starter.
Trans fluid to replace any lost in disconnect.
New coolant after radiator reinstall.
Any other supplies that are commonly forgotten until your elbow deep in the project?
Yep. The aftermarket WP comes with those crappy paper gaskets. Took me 45 minutes to scrape the old sealant and gasket off the engine. Had to use a wire wheel and that was MUCH easier. The Aisin metal with the sealant bonded to it is so much nicer.
When I did my water pump, the old water pump was OEM Aisin with the proper rubber bonded metal gasket. The rubber still fused with the engine block and required some scraping. Probably because of the heat and time. Still better than those crappy paper gaskets or silicone sealants though.
