Timing Belt/Water Pump, etc. Service. Price Check

Hey all,

Got a quote today for my timing belt/water pump service and all the seals, belts, etc. I am supplying the kit ($288 Ebay OEM kit) so just labor to install all the kit components I was quoted approx. $500. Deal or no deal? This is on the east coast FWIW (MD) if anyone in this area.

Thoughts?

Can you post a link to the kit to see what is included? I have 100k on mine and am looking to get this done, trying to see what I need to have performed.

FWIW a local Toyota dealership here was advertising a special on just the t-belt for 288 with labor.
 
Okay, so it looks like t-belt, accesory belts, water pump, thermostat and tensioners/gaskets. I'll have to call and see how much all that tacks on to the 288. Thanks!

Oh, and crank and cam seals...

I dont know how far you are from Delaware but I can do it for $175....
 
I don't trust my technical skills to do this myself because well...I don't have any! I know a lot of you guys have done many before. I'm open to T4R for hire if you are within a couple of hours or so. Also have 1 more place to call tomorrow. We shall see!

I'm in Newark DE, I can be in Maryland in 5 minutes from my house but I have no idea where you are in MD. If you do have someone do it and you can watch them do it you will probably end up doing your next one, it's an easy but involved job.
 
I was quoted around $900.00 at the Stealership recently....wanna drive to Canada to do mine Zach?? HA HA HA! I'll buy the beer! HE HE HE! All Kidding aside, a fellow off-road forum guy offered to help me do it, if I give him my old safari light bar.....probably will take him on for that offer!
 
I will have to let zach have this one. I am to out of shape to pedal my Huffy from South Alabama to Maryland.:zoom: I could walk I guess!

Only one way to get into shape! Just think of the money you'd save in gas!
