Timing belt/water pump kit or piece together?

Yeah, that's got it all, unless your rad hoses are looking iffy. Those can be changed at another time without major teardown so no big deal to wait. As I said, since you are doing the hydraulic tensioner the Schley tool is useless for you. Sounds like you are good to go.

Nah the hoses are fine. I do check all that stuff every time I change my oil (mobile 1 full synth every 5K). I drained and refilled my tranny fluid a few months back. It didn't look too bad, but I did it anyhow. (several times to let whatever was in the torque converter cycle through).
I have a tranny filter but I haven't replaced that because I figured why mess with the pan seal now if it's not leaking. If it does start to leak sometime, I'll drop it and replace the filter and gasket/seal.
I haven't gotten into my rear end yet. The truck still brakes fine (replaced front calipers, pads and rotors not long ago) and there's no leaking at the rear wheel seals. I've heard that can be a real PITA job, so I'm waiting until either something starts leaking or squeaking back there to get into it. I'll probably replace all brake related items, dust plates (almost completely rotted out), wheel seals and bearings (aren't there like 7 separate parts per side for those components?) and replace the gear oil obviously.
I need new shocks soon. Jeebus, sorry to lay down the entire maintenance history... LOL
 
Sorry for my ignorance, but does that kit you bought include both idler sub-assemblies and the tensioner? I see where the kit list includes an "Idle Roller" and a "Tensioner Roller" (and in the picture it looks like two idlers are there) but I wasn't sure if this was the same as what the dealership would tell me when they say "two idler sub-assemblies and the tensioner."

Thanks for any clarification!
 
Honestly I don't know. I have zero knowledge of what goes where until I start taking my truck apart and consulting Alldata.

The kit linked has all the rollers/idlers etc. there are. (two). Yes, they are both talking about the same parts.(13505-62070 and 13503-62040).

The hydraulic tensioner is 13540-62021

$452 shipped from Camelback Toyota….that is a $100 difference for the same parts. I think I will go this route as well.

aircabinman kits did the trick for me.....no issue using their stuff; Toyota prices leaves lots of room for profit even on genuine OEM suppliers. At least 3-4 of their +ve feedback is from me.
 
I also used the AircabinMan kit on ebay. I got the higher quality one that has everything including tensioner.

If I had it to do all over again I probably would not replace the tensioner and instead get the special tool. Unbolting the AC compressor made the job twice as hard.

+100 I agree 100% with compressing the tensioner next job too. I ended up snapping one of the long bolts that go through the body of the compressor. I won't do it again.
