timing belt/water pump replacement kit

Hello everybody!

I'm planning to replace a timing belt/water pump on my 99 4r*r SR5, 6 Cyl 3.4L. I found this kit online for $122.84

In a Fit Note (on the site) it says that it's for "DOHC, With Bypass Tube, For Models with Engine Oil Cooler." How to find out if it's what I have?

Also is this a good place to buy a kit, or there is a better place? Please recommend!

AFAIK we don't have engine oil coolers in our gen? If we do I'm blind because I haven't seen the lines.

Looks like this should work for your truck. I'd go OEM but if you're on a strict budget and you're not worried about the brand (which they don't list) this will get you going.

Exactly.

This is one of those cases where you absolutely get what you pay for. As much of a pain in the ass as the water pump is, there's no way in hell I'd risk having to tear into it again before the 80k mile interval is up just to save $100 or so.

Search for AISIN TKT025. Aisin is the OEM manufacturer. About $175 from RockAuto. FYI, the 3.4 engine does have an oil cooler.

I have one in my '02. From what I was told in a different thread most, possibly all, 3rd gens have an oil cooler and need the water pump with the connector for it.

You could go to a dealer and ask the parts dept for the item number you need, based on your VIN, for the water pump. Or just pull the engine cover and look.

Yep. It's next to the oil filter.
