Tinted

I had the front windows tinted today. It is something I had not though much about. However, with the other mods, and all the money I have been spending, I felt like it would add a finishing touch. My feeling and T4RAddict's advice were right. It looks great.

Right on man that looks great! Crazy what a little bit of tint can do for the outside aesthetics of a vehicle. I think it should have came like that from the factory.. Great finishing touch until the mod bug bites again, haha:)

Nice. Not too aggressive. What % is that and what was your cost?

That is 35%. It is a small risk as the legal limit in Illinois is 50%.

What I don't like is that if the truck had no tint anywhere I could have legally gotten 35% all the way around. However, since I had 20% on the back's from the factory, the legal limit for the front was 50%. It seems like bureaucratic B.S. so I went with the 35. We'll see what happens.

I paid $125 for the two front windows with a lifetime warranty against bubbles, cracks, fading, etc......

I live in D.C., which has some of the toughest tint laws in the nation. 70% in front. 50% in back.

WOW. Of course, any car tinted by the maker and originally sold outside D.C. is somewhat exempt. My runner has tinting. Not sure how much, but it is pretty dark on the back.

I think there is also a pretty good reason no one sells/buys cars in D.C., everyone drives into Maryland and VA to get them.

Looks good though.

when I got ceramic film tint on the front, they didn't say not to roll down the window, or clean it... etc...I remember I rolled down the window the day I got it...is that only with certain films you can't roll the window down right away?

I'm not sure. I really don't know anything about tint film. I picked the shop I did because they are a decent sized, reputable shop and not some shady corner place.

Mine were the same when I tinted. I was told not to roll them or clean them too. At first when I looked I too thought nothing looked done but when you show the before picture you can clearly see it.
