I'm just about ready to install the Firestik AR-1A FM/CB splitter. Any tips on access the rear of the Nav unit? I was planning on using the TIS FSM. I think all I need to be able to do is remove the current antenna cable, plug it into the unit, and plug the unit's wire into the rear of the nav. Just looking for any tips or suggestions or shortcuts.

I think if you follow the FSM you should be able to figure it out, that's exactly what I did and had zero problems. Just remember to follow each step exactly and put it back together exactly in reverse as well; it's like a damn jig saw puzzle and order matters. I put together ~90% of the center console only to realize I left out this tiny little filler piece that goes in front of the cubby hole, which required me to take it all back apart because it needs to be installed first, lol.
