tips for removing 3.4 engine?

hello, i have a 5 speed 3rd gen 4runner that has over 200,000 miles on it. i am planning to replace alot of maintenence parts to make it my daily driver eventually. looking to do: clutch, timing belt, water pump, tentioner, pulleys, radiator, belts, ubj+lbj, tundra brake upgrade, manifolds and maybe steering rack.

I plan on pulling the engine to do these items. I was wondering two things.

1. with over 200,000 miles, should i just do the head gaskets since the engine will already be out?

2. any tips on pulling the engine? i have pulled dozens of subaru engines so it cant be much different.

With the list you have, it almost seems more difficult to remove the engine. I've done everything on that list without removing mine, that's why I mention it. I'm unsure of how to remove the engine, as I've never. But look at the FSM in our 3rd gen Manual. Just an FYI that its all doable with the engine in, and is somewhat simple.

Well, since you have to pull the tranny/TC anyway to do the clutch, it may not be the worst idea in the world. I've done a clutch, but not the engine...BUT...I have a link for that:

I pulled one on an automatic. It's a bit of a pain in the *ss on the auto. Getting the inspection plate off and the flax plate bolts is tough if you have human sized hands. But I guess since you'll already have it apart, you'll have that part done. Still think it's easier to do these things with the motor in though.

As for the head gaskets, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. IMO anyway. It's a pretty intense job and it leaves a lot of room to damage something going back together.

i understand that saying, i usually go by it but if figured since the engine was going to be out, the job would be alot cleaner and easier. the vehicle shows no signs of overheating i just figured for another what $150 or so to do them. im gonna run a compression test this weekend with the warmer weather were gonna get. thanks
