Tire balance aneurism pending - Haweka in NC?!?!

I remember seeing CJ3FLYR having the same issues with the SA's. His would balance out great for a while, but after a couple hundred miles they would be out of balance. He switched to some Toyo's I believe and hasn't had a problem since. His suspicions were that the tire was rotating on the rim, which was also alluded to earlier in this post.

Do you notice the problems immediately, or does it take some time before noticing they are out of balance?

It's pretty immediate, but I have had instances where the balance was bearable, but then would get worse after a few weeks. The steering wheel also shakes more when the tires are cold. I had them balanced properly by the dealer once, but as soon as I had them rotated, they were out of balance (without a re-balance).


I'm going to try some Nitto Terra Grapplers soon and I hope that will help the issue. I'm done with Goodyear.

imo, tire's should always be rebalanced when rotating them.

i went though this recently with BFG all terrains. when i had them new they balanced perfectly. at about 4000 miles i had them rotated. they automatically recheck the balance(tire warehouse). the tech said two were off. ever since then i have had nothing but problems. 5 times back with different solutions:

rebalance every time, each time all were off, balance and rotate for best ride(now i lost my original rotation). finally the guy who runs the shop came out(who also owns a 4runner) he did each one himself, indexed for balance etc. found that two needed indexing, all were off balance. found the original rotation and corrected it.

now it drives perfectly again, no steering wheel shake, no vibration.

he does have a road force machine and the 5 finger adapter.
