Tire Buying Places ONLINE

Can anyone help me out here. It's finally time, the 4Runner needs new tires BAD.

I know of tirebuyer.com, tirerack.com and of course Discounttire.com. Wasn't there one on here someone had talked about awhile back where they were offering something like free shipping at one point? What was that website?

When you add in shipping, you can usually find the same deals locally and not have to wait or deal with getting them mounted. Check your local shops and see if they will match online pricing.

Where you live makes a big difference in how much of savings (IF ANY) you get. Here in NH where there's no sales tax...I can buy tires cheaper locally then on-line. In MA where you have to pay sales tax then the on-line stores become a bargain because when buying on-line you don't have to pay sales tax.

I would Add tirecrawler.com to the list. I have a discount Tire shop locally and they will match any online price. Just ordered a set of 35x12.5r17 cooper stt's that they matched the price of tirecrawler.com and for me the tax i pay pretty much equals the shipping on the online price.

Costco for me. I only buy Michelin's because they have outlasted and outperformed all other tires for my use and when you factor in the $70 discount you can get most of the time it only ends up being $60 more than the cheapest online deals. However, you get free lifetime rotation, balancing and flat repairs. . . . worth the extra $60 IMO.

I would go to discount tire direct. When getting tires for my old civic Discount tire was 69 a tire and tirerack was 60 a tire. Discount tire has free shipping while tirerack doesn't. Knowing this I still submitted a price match thing to discount tire. They called me the next day and explained they were cheaper because of the free shipping. Then he continued to say if I would buy today they would match tire racks price and still offer free shipping. So I bought the tires that day.

You can also call Discount Tire Direct and negotiate better prices.

I have bought quite a few sets from them and been very happy each time. I was having a hell of a time finding tires for my wife's XC90 Sport and they helped me out A TON, got me the right tire and really worked with me on the price as they knew I was on a budget.

before you go through the hassle of buying/shipping/lugging them to get put on, I went to Discount tire with a print out of an Ebay auction for tires, they not only matched it, but they beat the price. I'm not advocating Discount tire, I'm just saying I was more than impressed with their service. if it's a specialty tire you're after it may not work, but this was for GY duratracs. good luck.

I got my Kelly Safari TSR's from treadepot.com, wow they jumped in price too. I paid $199 per tire, now they are $227. I also bought my wife's Toyo Proxes 4 tires there too. NO issues from these guys at all!!
