Tire flat spots question

For the past 4 -5 months I have been driving my 4Runner very little and it sits most of the time. I used it once or twice a week and put around 30-50 miles.

Anybody know how long it takes for tires to develop flat spots and if driving the car at least once a week prevent it from happening ? I know there is nothing set in stone but would like to know if anybody has had any experience with the topic.

Thank you !

Once a week and you’ll be fine. You could even go longer without bad effects. My parents lexus sat in the garage for many months and those got flat spotted bad. Also depends on you tire pressure. Off the lot from the dealership, my stock P series tires were at 50(!) psi. Think they do that to keep from flat spotting on the lot.

Tires, particularly with Nylon in the plies, will develop flat spots after sitting for a bit. But these typically go away after a few miles of driving, and are not permanent.

I have several vehicles, some of which sit for extended periods of time. Up to 6 months at a time. Any flat spots have always gone away after the tires have been driven on for a few miles.
