Tire pressure for BFG KO2's

I have a new set of KO2s. After playing around with the pressures I have decided on 40psi. At 43 they were just a little too hard.

ETA: 6/18/2019. I have lowered it to 38. Does not seem to make any difference with mileage or wear but rides better....

I have 275/70/17 E-rated KO2's on TRD Pro wheels and I run them at 38psi.

43-44 seems to be perfect for me, and very smooth. Anything under 40 rides like the wheels are square.

Same here. Exact same setup. 40+ seemed a little too stiff unloaded.

Im running it at 45 psi now. I ran it at 35 for years, but the more weight I added to the truck, the worse the car drove and handled. Now I'm happy at 45 psi for daily/freeway commuting (as long as my daily commute is mainly freeway).

I recently put on the 285/70/17 116Q KO2 C Load and noticed it has a max PSI of 50. The other C load KO2 has a load index 116S with a Max of 60 PSI. With this difference in load index, should the 116Q be run at a lower PSI than the 116S?

I have 285 10plys on stock trail wheels.

I run them at 33 in the front and 35 in the rear for road and i run them at 17-18psi when offroad

Thanks for the info. I am curious if someone can chime in about the difference between the C load 116Q load index (max PSI 50) vs the C 116S (max PSI 60). Apparently the the C load 116Q is relatively “new” to the market.

The S is a higher speed rating, if they are both C 116 they have the same load rating

About to get a set of 265s mounted sometime next week and finally ditch the original Dunlops. Sounds like the sweet spot to have these inflated to is at 38-40 psi. Thank to everyone for their inputs!

I’m also about to get my KO2’s installed next week (LT265/70/17 C). I’m going to see if America’s Tires can balance my new tires using the road force balancer. I’m also going to have them set the PSI to 40. Since my driving is mostly paved roads, it seems like that’s the way to go.

36F/35R on 265/70/17 Load C (112). Stock SR5P, no extra weight.

40 caused excess center tread wear, though that is the recommended pressure to equal the 113 load rating on OEM GrandTreks for max GVW. I'm not worried much about the difference. There is obviously a fair amount of margin as the factory Limited tires have a load rating of 107.

I replaced the stock Bridgestone Duelers with the same size BF Goodrich KO2's on my 2017 Trail Premium. The Toyota recommended tire pressure for the Bridgestones was 32 psi. What pressure should I run in the KO2's? I asked BF Goodrich on their helpline, and they said 50 PSI, which seems ridiculously high.
Any help?

If you have the same load range as OEM then 37psi what worked for me in any weather conditions, snow, rain. if the load range is higher than I would do 45 or 42. My first set was E load and they were to harsh for me, I was able to replace them with factory load range C with 37psi, perfect tires no matter what some people say if you keep them at 37psi you will have the best experience.

my 265's i run around 38 psi for high way driving but go down to 20 for trailing usually. for a more comfortable drive on the streets i could go down to 32 psi, its preference

Those of you guys who are running load E tires what kind of increase in tire psi are you guys seeing after driving. I’m seeing a 7psi increase on my rears which seems a bit high so I increase the psi since I’m thinking my tires are getting a little to warm but same thing. Whether I run 42psi or 45 same outcome.

I'm running an E Rated 285/75/17 and driving around SF I typically see a range from 38-42 from temp changes. I'm in the heart of today's Tahoe storm and it dropped down to 36.
