Tire Pressure Sensor Warning stays on - ???

Hi, haven't been on in a while because my 2006 3rd Gen 4R has been running very well. I can't believe it's been over 10.5 years, I've had it, with less than 145K miles, on it. It helped me make a permanent move from NJ to the Tampa Bay area in Florida, last year. I'm probably looking at a new front skid plate (some rust there), but otherwise, I change the oil regularly (and I had transmission/Transfer case maint. at 100K miles) and new brakes, and it continues to run.

But I gather problems will start. Here's one of the 1st. For some reason, I continue to get the "tire pressure sensor" warning light as if one of the tires is under-inflated. Usually, that means the spare tire needs a shot of air, so I filled it and checked the other tires as well, but the light still doesn't go out. It always had when I filled all the tires, previously.

I'm not sure exactly how these sensors work. Is there something mounted in the tire itself that transmits its status to the ECM? It's possible that the last time I got new tires, the sensors were removed, but I think there should have been a lot more errors a long time ago. Is one of the sensors just "stuck?" Does it require clearing with an OBD II (which I own, so I can do it).

Also, is there a way to disable the warning permanently, since I've never really needed the reminder it offers (I keep the tires inflated properly for gas mileage and proper wear).

I have had many sensors fail. Should be a easy fix at the tire shop.
