Yah, weird that some people are being told by BFG that they're gone, and others that they're just changing part numbers.

I have to think that some reps are taking the time to investigate and others aren't. I hope that's the case anyway.

I actually just picked 2 of them up in SLC this weekend. Heres the trick. The 255/75/17 KM comes stock on the Jeep Rubicons. Guys usually do 1 of 2 things. Either they pull them off with low mileage for bigger tires and sell them as a set (Usually around 500-600 for a set of 5) or they run the tires down and still have a brand new spare that they no longer need cuz they go to a different size or brand. I usually grab the spares for 50-80 each brand new and just take a few weeks and get 4 of them. I had a brand new spare that was on my truck that I bought for $60 with the jeep alloy and sold the rim for $50. $10 tire. Then this weekend, I had my dad grab 3 more. 1 with a rim for $50 (free tire) then 1 for $100 and 1 for $80. Total cost for 4 brand new tires is $190.

I bought a set of four near new for $100, but one had a sidewall gash and couldn't be repaired. Another guy gave me one to replace it but it was half worn and I didn't want to run mismatched tread so I had to buy one used from mexican tire place. Now I've got two near new and two half worn with a brand new spare. I went trolling the classifieds looking for spare takeoffs, now I know why I couldn't find any. Frickin' Idahoans coming down taking all my tires. Maybe we need a border checkpoint.

Now that you mention it, I did get strange wear on my previous set of tires' side lugs. There were "stepped" much like you mention. I tried lower pressures but I get crazy uneven wear, with the outsides of the tires wearing out really fast compared to the inside. I had my alignment triple checked by two different shops and it was all good. I rotate the tires frequently as well. The tire wear was so bad that I actually had the tires flipped and remounted on the wheels to even it out. No one could seem to figure out why I was getting that kind of wear. Even at 40 psi, it still happened. I just got a new set of tires about 1000 km ago. Im hoping the issue had something to do with the tires, but I doubt it.

I had you exact same issue. Started at 36psi that the shop had them at. I had stepped wear. I then brought them too 40psi, same issue. Even brought them up too 50psi max and it got super bad.

Went around researched and found about chalk test and lower pressure on muds. I ended up dropping actually I think too 28psi. Finally tires stopped cupping. Wore out even but bye then all my tires where gone.

Now that I got the higher load I am at 24psi. Perfect tire wear.
