Tire Question...

Hi I am new here I have a 2003 toyota 4 runner...I have only had to change my tires 1 time since buying this in 2007...I need to change them again. I had bought the same tires that came with the truck originally from Factory..Bridgestone DUELER H/T D840 P265/65R17

I am thinking about getting a different tire that might be better in rain (especially) and snow. Does anyone have any that they recommend that would be similar or less in price...I really cant afford to go UP in price right now...as it is those are over $800.00 for all 4.

can you give more info? Are you driving on the highway, off-road, all-terrain tires, etc. Just a little more info on the purpose you will use them for.

Thanks for the reply....I would be doing pretty much all highway driving. We live in VA right now..but I drive to NY alot ....I do not really ever off roading..etc...just might see some snow.

Thanks for the link to that thread...but that person was asking for tires primarily used in the snow....I do primarily highway driving I might see a little snow...but not much. Mostly rain would be more of a concern.

Michelin LTX MS2, a quiet tire. Great on dry and wet. Ok on snow - there are no all- season tires that are great on snow. And rated to 70K miles. Worth the extra cash, if you plan on keeping the vehicle for awhile.

I will check out the Michelin .thanks...I am also looking into the Firestone Destination L/E and Destination A/T...I dont know that I actually would need the A/T..but it looks like it would last longer....both the L/E and A/T got better ratings from reviewers than my Durhler....and they are both cheaper than the Durhler.
