Tire Recommendations - Let's hear 'em

Ok - Looking to add some new rubber to the wheels once I get the new suspension. I've been having a hell of a time deciding on a tire and would be interested in hearing people's opinions, experiences, thoughts.

Situation: I drive 90% on highway and only 4wheel for work (in electrical and pipeline transmission ROW's), I cruise dirt roads to get to fishing access areas and I bomb north in snowstorms to ski fresh snow. I'm in New England, so the road conditions range from dry, wet, icey, slushy and snowy.

I'm putting a 6112/5160 setup on the truck and I'm between a 1" front lift/factory springs in the rear OR a 2" front lift and 1.5" daystar spacers in the back - This is yet to be decided and depends a good amount on what tires I end up going with.

Tires I've considered:

Cooper Discoverer AT3 in a 265/70/17
BFG KO2 same size
Toyo Open Country AT2 265/70/17
Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 265/70/17

Priorities (in order) are: On-road ride quality, road noise and snow traction.

Any and all information is appreciated!

should just run the bare rims. tires only increase your unsprung weight, and you've never seen anything cut through mud and snow like the hard metal edge of a rim. Just think of all the money you'll save not having to buy bulky, ugly tires, and how sweet a set off 33x9 rims will look on that new ride!

edit: sorry, i see you were looking at 265's, so like 31x7 rims then! that's smart, no need for a body mount chop that way...

Hey! At least he's looked at some! Sorry I can't help. Snow scares the bejesus out of me! :faint:
 
the G2's are excellent on road. Road noise is barely noticeable over stock. Cannot confirm how they perform in snow as I'm based in San Diego

I'm 10k into a set of AT3's and they've been a great tire... as a bonus, they're one of the better priced AT tires as well. I would definitely recommend them and consider them again myself (at this point). The KO2's look so good though... I would probably pay a little more and give them a try next time around. I'm reading the winter driving on these is MUCH improved over the old and they're just a great tire over all.
 
I got the g2 and they do very well on road off road even did a bit of rock crawling with them. Had them in snow did well as well. With that being said all those tires are pretty much on par with one another. Get one that you like the looks of out of those 3. I would of gotten the coopers cause of the looks of it was available when I got my g2 . If it matters my g2 is not even the LT version to help with gas mileage and lesser strain on components but I guess I threw that out going off roading the way I do lol
 
Duratracs x3. Love them, grrat road manners, just a fairly slight hum on hwy, cant hear it at all when radio is on, and badass in snow and most offroad cond.
