Tire shop question.

About to pull the trigger on an 11' Trail and want to get some Dura Tracs right away.
What shops will buy your tires from you when you buy new tires from them? I've heard some places do that, but have no experience with it.

not sure about what shops will do that, but before you sign on the dotted line, have you tried to negotiate a new set of tires in the purchase price of the vehicle?

No I haven't tried that yet. I figured I would get raped on the price then they would end up keeping the original tires. I will send the guy I'm dealing with an email now and see what will happen. If worse comes to worse, i will just have to wait a couple of weeks and have my buddy who owns a shop order me a set and I will get them at cost anyways.

when you get ready to purchase and have settled on a price, mention the tires to the salesman and tell him you are not impressed. see if he/she will trade them out for you, or at least knock off a few hundred to seal the deal. if you can get what you want at cost, that is pretty big. to close the deal on a $35k truck, he/she may be willing to play ball. i got the crappy dunlops on mine. they work pretty well on dry pavement, but they kind of suck in the snow.
