Tire size help

Hello everyone.

I need help with getting tire size. I own a 03 4Runner sr5 v6 4x4. Just purchase some sr8 wheels from stealth custom series 16x8 -12mm offset 4.00 backspacing and also got the 3" toytec coilovers bilstein 5100.
Would the 285/75/16 km2 (33s)tires rub? If so, how bad would it rub ? Do I need to do any minor trimming? If you have any Answer. I would like to go with the biggest tire I can get on my 4Runner. All I seen on the web are 3rd gen info. What major mod would I have to do?

Thanks everyone.

Just get the 285's - its the biggest people tend to fit without other major modifications like body mount chops etc and still look good.

I'm rolling 285/70/16 toyo r/t, with a 3" Toytec, 1.25" bodylift, 15MM offset, along with 1.5 spidertrax spacers.

You will have to chop the bodymounts, part of the the fender flare inside the wheel well behind the tire, and the front side of the wheel well liner, in front of the tire. If you are gonna roll 285/75 a body lift is a must... A 285/75 is pretty much a 34" tire, your gonna need a 2" body lift. 285/70 is a 33" tire, Im glad a did the body lift, IMO they wouldnt of fit with out it......

33's are about the biggest you can do with that set-up and you will probably have to trim the front fenders some and get bump stops for the rear since you don't have a full metal front bumper.

Not sure you need a 2" body lift for 34's, but at minimum a 1.5", BMC, and quite a bit of trimming will be needed. I've got a set of 35's waiting at home for me when I get back from vacation, so we'll see how much trimming I'll need to do (I anticipate some if not a bit, but some of that is because I need to adjust/install bump stops, even my 33's with the 3" lift needed a bit of bump stop help.)

So 285/70/16 are 33s and 285/75/16 are 34s, correct? For the 285/70/16,with the 3" lift and 16x8 -12mm off set 4.00 offset what minor trimming I would need to do and do I still need to chop the body mount.

Sorry for so much question. I'm still new

Thanks for all the help everyone

So 285/70/16 are 33s and 285/75/16 are 34s, correct?

Those values are true for 17 inch rims, but for 16 inch rims the tires will be an inch smaller. So,

285/70/16 is roughly 32 inches, 285/75/16 is about 33.

285/70/17 = 33"; 285/75/17 = 34".

Formula is 285*.70*2/25.4+17 = diameter in inches for a 285/70/17

I have an 03 v8 4x4, with a 2.5-3 OME lift, with the Stealth 6 wheels. I got 265/70/17 BFG KO2's and they rubbed just slightly on the front fender liner and mudflaps. I just removed the front mud flaps (the running board offers about the same amount of protection) and pushed the fender liner forward (ez-pz) to solve it.

Thanks all for the help.

I'm gonna go with 285/75/16 bfg k02.

Going to install it tomorrow. Gotta take a before and after pic. Can't even sleep.

Thanks
