tire size question

Im going to go with 4 snows for the winter I have a nasty drive to and from work so I decided snow tires would be best.

The local tire dealer says he only can get them in size 245/70/17 for my 06 runner sport when I take a size 265/65/17. I checked the on line tire size chart and found they are almost the same size like real close. So I guess im looking for some opinions on the different size and would any of you go to that size.

yeah the stock OEM size is an unusual one. not many tires made in that size. most people when buying new tires size up to the 70 series just because it adds height and fills the wheel wells more. i am personally getting 265/70/17 Nitto's soon enough. so to answer your question, that is the size that most utilize.
