Tire Size

Hi guys,

I’m new to this but hoping someone can help me. I have a 1998 4Runner with 3” lift I purchased a set of Toyota 17” rims and want to run those with some tires that are a little bigger than stock. Not trying to get crazy with it and don’t want to have to run spacers, but was hoping someone could help me determine a good tire size to run.

The new rim backspacing will determine if you have to run wheel spacers or not. I just finished a 3" lift with new Toyota 17" rims. I had to use 1" wheel spacers because the new Toyota rims did not have enough backspacing. As far as wheel size, I run 255/80/17. It measures as a true 33" tire. I will try to get some pictures posted in a little while to help you out.

Perfect tire size in my opinion. 255/75r17. Sits 32.1" x 10" wide. Wife runs them on her stock Tacoma. Have some size but not as heavy as a 33. Clears usually without modification to fenders and stuff.
