Tired of reading endless reviews. Just do it for me: tires

I'm so sick of mixed reviews but based on 100 different vehicles. And, if you're mainly a highway driver that doesn't go off road much then please note idc about tread wear. Here's my dilemma: I am considering new tires. I have 285/75 r16 KM2s and I'm keeping this size. They're E rated and I don't like them much. Maybe because of being E rated idk but they're so stiff that my 4k pound truck doesn't let them bulge much. 15 PSI and 40 PSI look identical. I aired one down and kept one up and asked random people if they could tell a difference and they couldn't.

I off road pretty hard, 90% on rocks and loose dirt and some tiny bit of mud (avoid it when I can but it's sometimes inevitable) and these don't bite well. I think they're too stiff and hard and I don't want to air down to 10.. 15 should suffice so what are better options?

Here's what I'm looking for: something sticky like the duratracs but more aggressive.. i only wheel with this. It only sees the highway to get to trails.
I want something that doesn't chunk too badly. Some is fine and expected but I don't want to need to replace them in a year...

Things that don't concern me: road manners.. I don't care too much. Noise.. wear.. balancing... idc. I wheel enough to need replacement before tread wears down.

Help me out!!

I had 255/80r17 toyo open country Mt on my 03 Tacoma. They were amazing, but load E so they won't fit what you're looking to get. If you are ok with 32s you could do 255/75r17 and they are only load c. The skinnies fit well on the taco and the smaller patch helps unless you're in mud. If you do a lot of rocky areas the 10 ply tires are nice insurance. My two cents.

I have 16s so I would do the 33s for sure. Skinnies are great for highway drivers so they have less resistance but I basically keep mine at 15-20 unless I'm driving over 100 miles. I'm a lazy ass I guess idk. I only drive it once a week to go wheeling 40 miles away.

I like Toyos - OpenCountry and choose your tread design, probably an MT but if not much mud, AT may be good

I would look at the Cooper STT Pro or the Falken Wildpeak MT. They are two of the newer tires on the market. I have lots of friends with the Cooper STT Pro and they love them.

You can't beat either one of those. If it was me and seeing personal reviews from people that I know and have purchased these tires I would go with the STT Pro. Good luck in your choice!

1997 4Runner with lift and 35" tires

Hey guys

I'm looking to get my brothers 4Runner up and running but it needs new tires. I can't find any decently prices 35" tires for 16" rims. I'm a total newb to this and wanted some advice on what to do. Can/should i look for smaller tires that are compatible with those 16" rims? I'm looking for the cheapest option, i'm not picky about the brand. Please help me and forgive my ignorance.
