Tires and mpg

Hi all, my '10 has Cooper SRX's that are nearing the end of their lives. This is my work car and I put on about 30K miles per year. MPG is therefore fairly important (currently averaging 21.8).

I am wondering what experiences people have had with different tire brands/types affecting their fuel mileage in anyway?

I am considering Michelin LTX MS, or perhaps the LTX AT, but I don't want to pay for it at the pump.

I know that P rated tires will generally be more fuel efficient, but was hoping somebody had some actual experience switching tires and their impact on mpg???

The Michelin 265 LTX/MS highway tire should be among the best of breed for your purposes. I had a set on my '99 with about half the tread and they ride very nicely, grip offroad very well and give me typical mileage. High mileage tire that grips in the wet as well. A popular choice on many trucks I see on the road.
