to 5100 or not to 5100

So along story short i have a 99 limited 4x4 3rd gen . it needs more lift for the tires 285/75/16 mtr's . i have the rear lc. 8.25 wraps and some billies for the rear . but what would you guys use in the front I can afford to buy the front bilsteins. but not any new springs so I have to reuse my old springs its got 222k on the clock,and I have been trying to source some tundra coilovers but no luck and i have been looking for awhile
then do i use tundra 5100's or 3rd gen 5100's
(p.s.) i have read every post on the topic
i just wanted to know what you have used and what you would do if you could redo it

I have a 1999 limited that I just installed 5100 with stock springs set on 2nd perch.i am happy with them ride ect,my wife drives this car as dd and is not *****ing about ride

I did something similar. I have OME 890 in the rear over 5125s. At the time I could only afford buying the 5100 tundra billies, didnt want to spend money on new springs but needed a front lift.

With the LC coils in the rear you should try the stock springs on the 5th perch if you want to be anywhere near level. You'll probably still have forward rake on the 5th setting unless you have the 99 talls. I have a pic if you'd like just let me know and ill post it

I did Joshua tree and mojave trail with this setup and had no issues. Actually rides pretty nice but its definitely on the soft side!

Forgot to mention that I just got the Toytec/Eibach coils installed in front last week which i really needed with the extra weight of front bumper and winch

And to be clear i meant rake as in the rear will be higher.

Front bumper and winch weighed the springs down alot. Also exemplified the fact that these springs werent designed for that much weight up front.


Only side shot I have with the stock springs front with some weight. Notice the front flares are off, had to take them off during wheeling because the stock springs made it flex and rub alot.

I don't think that's right. I have a '99 Limited and it has the tall coils.

Mine currently has a 1" spacer in the front and stock rears it's not the best picture but you can get a idea of mine
