Good call. It's your 4Runner! Just do the lift before you "weld" or bolt on your sliders, should you choose to go that route. At least you're thinking through everything. Enjoy

Like everyone says, it's your truck, enjoy it. The mods you are asking about are typically done to 4wd trucks but if you wanna be the 2wd guy who has all those parts, go ahead.

Lol so true. This forum has a lot of good info but there are very few members on here that actually build functional rigs for wheeling.

Yeah hopefully so! But there are a lot of other expenses that go along with that. I'll follow other people's builds to see what all needs to be done for that big mod. I heard that they actually dicontinued making them so I am not sure how there are so many for sale on ebay?

I would love my truck so much more if it was 4wd. But yeah like I said I gotta work with what I got until I can afford a better/new 4wd truck. Some of the guys who have done 4wd conversions were 2wd for quite awhile and they were lifted, armored, etc. A lot of what I do or would like to do is to improve my truck but it is also to learn something since I do all the work myself. I love working on my truck and I may find that somethings are easy, on the contrary I may find that some things are difficult and a pain in the a$$. Either way I like to learn how to work on my truck.
And yeah I guess I am? I've been told that by my friends. And a lot of the times I end up sending/typing something out without reading it.

I would love to make my truck into a prerunner with long travel suspension and all that but I wouldn't use it as much as it should be used. Once I have another daily driver then I can put my money towards making my current truck more functional. Right now it's decently functional, I want to increase its capabilities but also make it look good.

i went with a 1.5"....
in any event it doesn't matter what you get because you can always un-install it if need be........
unless you weld on sliders... then we may need to think a little harder

Yeah this is true. And I don't plan on going back with it since this is how I envision the look of my truck. Sitting at a decent height, rolling on 35's

It's usually better to start off 2WD for an SAS, drop whatever T-case you want behind the transmission, hang your axle and have a driveshaft made, less stuff to have to remove, more choices for axles and tcases, and usually a cheaper price for the truck to begin with.
People have even started SASing the 5 lug Pickups and Tacos now.

My vehicle is 4x4 buddy. And like stated 2wd is a good start for a SAS.
