To mega squirt or to not

Well I’ve got all the parts for my 5 speed swap minus the ecu and harness. I plan on doing one of the CX racing turbos or a supercharger (which ever I find a deal on first) my dilemma is will the mega squirt fix my hard to find ecu problem and be worth a damn with a stock engine? or am I just being impatient on finding the correct ecu for a decent price?

I’ve never heard of anyone running a stand-alone ecu on a 3rd gen, and I don’t think it would benefit you much unless you’re planning to run some serious boost with the turbos. I believe there are tunable fuel management systems you can get that might be just as useful.

Another thing to consider is if you have obd emissions tests in your area the vehicle will likely not pass with the mega squirt. Overall I don’t think you would see much benefit, and it will likely be cheaper to get the proper ecu and harness once you find them, they shop up on eBay occasionally for around $400

Yeah, I was going to say a little squirting is ok but mega squirting can be a little messy and you'll be changing sheets all the time.
