Today was extremely sad for me...

Im trying to sell a few of my toys, the evo x, the gsxr 1000 and my boat....today I sold my 2006 GSXR 1000cc I have had the bike for 7 years, so it had some sentimental value but I seldom ride it anymore....I sold it for full asking price of 6,500 funny thing was the 30 year old guy didn't even want to test ride it and he had cash in hand...after signing the title over he could barely ride the thing as he took off he was 5ft 6inches and had only ridden a 600cc a couple times...oh well enough of my rant....now I can start shopping for my new 1st gen 4runner or a new fj40 ....definitely sad to be bike less for the first time in years but I'm going to get a 2010 GSXR 1000cc in the spring, I usually have at least two....guess Im getting old and losing interest in going fast.

I had a GSXR 750 which I sold a year and a half ago. While I do miss it, I miss my first gen 4Runner so much more. Although there is no feeling like ripping around the twisty roads on the bike....

But I digress.

My best advice to you, find a RUST FREE truck! Things like a bad motor or trans can be fixed, but rust sucks! Trust me on that.

Edit: I see you're in Sacramento, no rust, lucky you.

I feel your pain. I've had many bikes over the years, mostly dirt bikes. I sold my last bike in 2010 due to a number of reasons, one of them was my wife begging me to sell because we had lost some riding friends due to bad drivers in the city. 4-5 months after selling the last bike, I started a new job and moved to the middle of no where. Perfect area to ride but no more bike. I really missed them at first but I am now so busy with work, family, etc., I realize I just don't have the time to ride and maintain a bike. If we go in the hills we take the 4Runner so the whole family can go. Someday I'll get another bike or two but for now my 4runner will have to do.

My advice as a life long Motorcyclist, (most of my street miles on sportbikes) is buy some good riding gear, when you get the next bike. All I could think about while watching your video, is how much it would suck to crash with no gloves, and what looks to be a hooded sweatshirt.

My advice as a life long Motorcyclist, (most of my street miles on sportbikes) is buy some good riding gear, when you get the next bike. All I could think about while watching your video, is how much it would suck to crash with no gloves, and what looks to be a hooded sweatshirt.

I to have ridden for year this is my 11th year owning a street bike. I think gear is the most important part when it comes to riding...I see these kids on Ducati's and 2014 GSXR 1K's and they literally have a $50-100 Dollar knock off non-DOT approved helmet....I will not ride unless I have an Arai Helmet on they have saved my life once before when a lady pulled out her driveway not looking and head on tboned me on 2008 GSXR 1000cc in march 2009 I was also wearing my Alpinestars Gloves and Jacket...I think If I would have had a shoei or any other helmet other then Arai on I would have died from flying like superman through the air and smacking my head on the asphalt ....its worth the $800-$1000 investment to protect you head (I mean you only get one) I commute alot on the GSXR and I hate transporting the gloves two piece jacket etc...but i tend to ride alot more mello when commuting...when I go hit the back twistys I always wear jacket and gloves seen to many of my buddies go down pushing the envelope and lose significant amounts of skin due to lack of gear its ugly....I was heading to a friends 5 miles away to hangout in this video and filmed the shot WOT!

on a side no this blow my mind the last 3 years I have been seeing new riders in the spring/summer months riding in flip flops shorts, tank tops and sometimes no shirt...I will wear jean and a sweatshirt in the heat of summer to protect my skin....flip flops those its crazy

I don't want to sell it but I was seeing whats out their if I can get what I paid out of it I'd be happy I got a screaming deal on it at 14k with 70k miles built as is!

You would be surprise how many rusted cars/trucks are in the Sacramento area with all the people traveling to Lake Tahoe and the snow the salts just get everywhere and not alot of people wash it off. Its there sometimes but nothing like the east coast :wacko: I am on the hunt for a 1st gen my friend just picked up an 86 1st gen with 55k original miles on the chassis the car had been sitting in the barn at his grand mothers cribbage partners house had some money put into it to, bumpers, winch, no lift or anything 22re 5speed and she gave it to him for 4k I was so mad I was like Ill give you 6k....I could not believe a gem like that was tucked away in a barn all these years...it was non-oped but had some back fees had not had tags in over 15 years....I wanted that thing so bad.
